Server Rules
We know rule pages can feel like a wall of text nobody reads until something goes wrong, so here's a quick breakdown of what actually matters and why.
We know rule pages can feel like a wall of text nobody reads until something goes wrong, so here's a quick breakdown of what actually matters and why.
The Core Rules
- No cheating or exploiting. We run anti-cheat alongside manual staff review. If you get flagged and think it was a false positive, open a ticket.
- Impersonation is prohibited. Impersonating staff, content creators, or other players is not allowed.
- No false authority. Do not attempt to deceive players into believing you have official authority.
- No loophole abuse. Do not intentionally abuse loopholes in the rules to gain an unfair advantage.
- Respect staff decisions. If you disagree with a decision, use the appropriate appeal or ticket system. Do not publicly argue with staff about punishments.
- Staff action. Staff may take action against behavior that negatively affects the server even if the exact situation is not specifically listed.
- No punishment evasion. Attempting to bypass a punishment through another account, identity, or method is prohibited.
- No harassment or hate speech. Discrimination, harassment, and hate speech of any kind are not tolerated and will result in immediate action.
- No doxxing. Sharing another player's personal or identifying information without their consent is strictly prohibited.
- No unauthorized advertising. Advertising other servers, Discords, or services without staff permission is not allowed.
Faction Rules
- Limited cooperation. Factions may cooperate only within the limits defined by the server (1 ally, 1 truce).
- No system abuse. Faction systems may not be abused to bypass server restrictions.
- No manipulation for advantage. Players may not intentionally manipulate faction systems for an unfair advantage.
- Claiming rules. Faction claims must follow the server's claiming rules (20 chunk buffer).
- No restriction bypassing via structures. Factions may not create structures specifically designed to bypass base restrictions.
- No alt factions. Using alternate factions to bypass restrictions is prohibited.
- Shared bases. Allied factions may share the same base, but the 20 chunk buffer rule applies to the base, not per faction.
- No unraidable designs. Bases may not use designs intended to make raiding impossible under normal means.
- Faction disbanding. Disbanding a faction to avoid an active raid, war, or punishment in progress is prohibited. Claims and consequences carry over to the reformed faction if evasion is suspected.
- No regen staircases (45s). Regen staircases or similar structures are prohibited. Players may not intentionally construct or use these regens, however anti 255s are allowed.
Raiding Rules
- Raiding is allowed. Raiding any player faction's base is allowed. This is a core part of the Factions gamemode and is expected.
- Explosives and raiding tools. TNT may only be used against enemy faction claims, never against spawn, shops, event areas, or other protected zones.
- No exploiting broken raid mechanics. Using duplication glitches, chorus fruit, nether portals, or other bugs to raid is treated as cheating, not raiding, and will be punished under the anti-cheat/exploit rules above.
- One cannon per raid. Multiple factions may attack the same base at the same time, but a raid is limited to one active cannon firing at a time. This limit applies to the entire raid against the target base, not once per faction. Multiple factions cannot bypass this restriction by bringing additional cannons and treating themselves as separate raids.
- Counter-raiding and stealing raids. A faction may attempt to counter-raid an ongoing raid and take over the attack. However, before the counter-raiding faction may begin its own raid or fire its cannon at the target, it must destroy the active cannon belonging to the faction currently conducting the raid. Once that cannon has been destroyed, the new faction may take over the raid and begin using its own cannon.
- Loot is fair game. Anything taken from a raided base's chests or storage during a valid raid is considered legitimately won.
- Griefing after the raid is over is not covered by raiding rules. Looting and destroying blocks as part of an active raid is expected; returning afterward purely to grief with nothing left to gain is treated as standard griefing, not raiding.
- Insiding. Insiding (a faction or ally member intentionally helping an enemy raid their own faction) is allowed as a valid strategy.
- No cobble monstering. Using water, lava, or other mechanics to intentionally create excessive cobblestone or similar block formations around a base for the purpose of griefing, obstructing, or unnecessarily damaging the surrounding area is prohibited.
